As the summer winds down and school bells prepare to ring, Unifi’s corporate team came together to give our frontline families a meaningful send-off into the school year. During our Back to School Bash at the Atlanta headquarters, corporate team members packed 500 bookbags filled with essential school supplies for the children of our frontline agents — from elementary schoolers to high school seniors.
The initiative was a simple yet powerful way to say thank you to the nearly 300 Atlanta-based field employees who received the bags. For agents who spend their days assisting thousands of passengers—through peak holiday travel and unpredictable weather—the gesture was a small reminder that their hard work is seen and appreciated.
“This means so much,” said Lisa Brown, trainer at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL). “My kids are so excited to open their bags. It takes a huge weight off knowing they’re starting the year prepared.”
For many, the Bash was about more than just supplies—it was about feeling supported.
“We’re out there every day helping people get where they need to go,” said Marsha Thomas, duty manager at ATL. “To have the company help our families like this—it’s more than I expected. It feels personal.”
Gautam Thakkar, Chief Executive Officer, Unifi, reflected on the spirit behind the effort:
“Our frontline teams are the face of Unifi. They show up, rain or shine, to keep people moving. This is just one way for us to say thank you—for the energy, dedication and excellence they bring to work every day.”
The Back to School Bash was as much about giving back as it was about elevating people—between departments, teams and the wider Unifi community.
